AFED 2020 Annual Report – February 2020

AFED report on Health and the Environment in Arab Countries is progressing. Senior authors from Arabian Gulf University, Cairo University and Alexandria University have recently joined the team. They will be working together with the core content partners from Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the WHO Centre for Environmental Health Action (CEHA). The report will be presented and discussed in November 2020 at AFED’s annual conference. Venue is under discussion. New AFED-Ecoschool Website – February 2020

AFED started the process of updating all its online portals, starting with Eco-Schools, where a portal has been exclusively developed for the new Environmental Education Manual. The manual was released in print at AFED annual conference in November 2019. It is being circulated among educational institutions in Arab countries to make free use of its contents. AFED has already received requests to use the manual from ministries of education and environment in several countries. http://afed-ecoschool.org/web/

AFED Environmental Education Report Road Show – February 2020

AFED has launched a road show to present its annual report 2019 on Environmental Education in Arab Countries, starting with Bahrain where the University of Bahrain hosted on 24 February the event under the patronage of its President, Dr. Riyad Y. AFED elected member of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD-MAP) - January 2020

Ministerial Council of the Mediterranean Commission on Sustainable Development (MCSD) has elected AFED as Member of its Board. MCSD has been established in the framework of UNEP Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP).
