AFED Report Consultation meetings and Conference 2012

A team of senior experts started preparing the analytical part of AFED 2012 annual report. The subject of the report is "Ecological Footprint and Sustainability Options in the Arab Countries". The report will be presented and discussed during AFED annual conference which will be held on 29 - 30 November 2012 in Beirut, Lebanon.

AFED has commissioned the world pioneering Global Footprint Network (GFN), to prepare an ecological footprint Atlas of the Arab countries, based on the most recent data.

The Atlas studies natural resources of every country, and on sub-regional and regional basis. AFED expert team will be analyzing sustainability options based on population, production, consumption and various development patterns.

Prior to report publication, AFED is organizing consultation meetings in order to give report authors the opportunity to deliberate their findings before a group of experts. These meetings will be held in Cairo, Beirut and Amman on 24, 27 and 30 April respectively.

AFED members will be invited to send representatives.
